Be involved

There are opportunities over the next few weeks to volunteer in local activities.

  1. The Elkins Estate needs books for their library, preferably about health and wellness, but other books would be appreciated also.  Please visit the Elkins Estate to drop off your donation.  They also need volunteers to make their Grand Opening Event a success.  If you would like to help, please call Ms. Pappas at (215) 782-8520 or visit their website: http://www.elkinsestate.org
  2. The Abington Food Bank is in need. The Food Cupboard is located in Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church (2086 Parkview Avenue (at the corner with Lycoming Avenue), Abington, PA 19001), and their normal hours of operation are Monday–
Friday, 11:30AM–3:30PM. They don't really have a phone number since all requests go centrally through the Interfaith Housing Alliance (or Interfaith Food Cupboard, or whatever their current name is; I know they're located in Ambler), but the person who manages the Abington Food Cupboard is Rebecca Kelly (beckphoto2002@yahoo.com)

There is also a food cupboard

Submitted by Meg Sheketoff on Wed, 09/30/2009 - 5:59pm.

There is also a food cupboard in the LaMott section of Cheltenham. I will get more details. I have them somewhere.
