2.  Americans are now more satisfied with the way things are going in the United States than they were in early March, fueled by a jump in satisfaction among Democrats and a smaller increase among independents. Republicans remain largely dissatisfied.  Click here for more.
 
3.  WASHINGTON — With the Senate scheduled to begin debate on a financial overhaul bill this week, the fraud suit against the Wall Street titan Goldman Sachs has emboldened Democrats to ratchet up pressure on Republicans who oppose the Obama administration’s proposal.  Click here for more. 
 
4.  Did you know that volcanic ash can bring down airplanes? I didn't know. Nor did I know that there were volcanoes in Europe capable of spewing so much of the stuff into the atmosphere. But since last week, when airports in Britain -- and then Germany, France, Poland, Austria, Switzerland and Scandinavia -- began to shut down because of the ash emitted by Eyjafjallajokull, Click here for more.
 
5.  IN LITTLE MORE than eight months, the tax cuts passed under President George W. Bush are set to expire. That would be, for the most part, fine with us, although the timing, at the beginning of an economic recovery, could be problematic. Not to worry, however. There is almost no chance that Congress will let the tax cuts expire. The only question is whether it will act with a modicum of fiscal responsibility. Click here for more.
